Now, we have a cupboard over the oven that has become our coupon graveyard.  Every weekend my wife promises to organize everything, but with our schedules, there’s never time. Usually, once a coupone goes in there, it never comes out until after the expiration date. One look at that mess and I realized those pizza coupons weren’t in the plans for tonight.  

But then I remembered it.  That new place had sent us a magnetic postcard mailer announcing it’s grand opening a few weeks ago.  My wife had immediately put it on the fridge door, and now at the moment of truth, I remembered it was there. 

“I guess we’re going to try the new place tonight.” I told my wife as I pulled the card off the fridge and started dialing the number.  The person I talked to was nice and helpful, and the pizza was delivered hot, fresh and on time.  One thing was clear in the 4 minutes it took my famished family to finish this pie – we now had a new go-to pizza place to call next Friday night.  I think we’d order from there again even without another coupon, although there are still 3 others on the magnet postcard that we’ll be using soon. 

And all of that wouldn’t have happened without the magnetic postcard on our fridge door, although I guess great tasting pizza also helped.  Any mere mortal of a coupon would have been buried with the other coupons never to see the light of  day.  Then we would have never tried the new guy in town.
